LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

About the Role

You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Industrial Support Department, Logistics Division of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.

Responsibilities

• Identify ILS program planning and execution problems related to ships overhaul, modernization, or repair in order to develop corrective action plans.
• Participate in conducting/coordinating the evaluation of design, configuration, and engineering changes for major components of new or extensively modified equipment systems.
• Perform research on complex systems located on ships undergoing conversion, modernization, or repair.
• Research Allowance Parts Lists (APLs) to determine the level of validation necessary and the required information to support undeveloped APLs.
• Participate in the collection, interpretation, and development of provisioning technical data (PTD) assigned to major components of new and extensively modified equipment systems or commodity classes.
• Collect, procure, and distribute Naval Ship's systems/equipment configuration and logistics data.
• Perform analytical and investigative assignments in support of the assessment and validation of shipboard equipment and systems to contribute to accurate configuration information and correct identification of logistics support elements.
• Perform technical investigations, research, and analysis to determine baseline configuration and APLs for shipboard equipment and systems.

Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience performing Logistics Management Specialist work equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent pay band or equivalent experience in the private sector.

Specialized experience includes performing configuration and logistical support work which requires applying a broad knowledge of logistics principles, concepts, and methods that encompasses a wide range of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functionality applicable to ships undergoing modernization, conversion, and/or repair.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
