Logistics Management

Duties and Responsibilities

• Administers integrated supply chain activities to support production/manufacturing planning, warehousing, order management, shipping and receiving.
• Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production orders and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials are timed to meet requirements.
• Oversees and actively assists in preparing work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components based on a master schedule.
• Affords assistance in monitoring contract logistics activities for compliance with standard processes.
• Collaborates with logistics support requirements of engineering, manufacturing and other functional areas.
• Oversees and actively assists in conducting site surveys for new deployments.
• Supports the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistic processes such as replenishment systems, electronic data systems and related functions.
• Assigns and monitors work of staff while ensuring logistics processes are met within established timelines.

Qualifications

• Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline and nine or more years progressive experience in aircraft maintenance, operations and scheduling.
• Additional professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
• Must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of logistics principles, concepts, regulations and practices.
• Must have proven leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines.
• Must be able to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment.
• Must possess: the ability to resolve complex technical problems, strong verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and present findings, strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees, management and outside representatives, the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information, knowledge of computer operations and applications related to the position, Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
