Logistics Coordinator (Mining and Recycling Operations)

Responsibilities

• Cook up inbound and outbound transportation of materials, consumables, spare parts, and heavy equipment.
• Schedule and monitor deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time and in the correct quantities.
• Inspect copper scrap received on site to ensure deliveries are correct.
• Manage freight providers and carriers for deliveries to mine site.
• Support warehousing, laydown areas, and on-site material handling activities.
• Track shipments and resolve delays, damages, or shortages in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Maintain accurate inventory records using site ERP and inventory systems.
• Work closely with warehouse and procurement teams to manage stock levels and reorder points.
• Support critical spares management to minimize downtime of mining equipment.
• Conduct stock takes and audits as required.

Site Operations Support

• Liaise with production, maintenance, and projects teams to understand logistical needs.
• Cook up logistics for shutdowns, major maintenance events, and site construction projects.
• Cook up support for mobilization and demobilization of equipment, contractors, and personnel.

Safety, Compliance & Environment

• Ensure all logistics activities comply with mine safety standards, MSHA/OSHA regulations, and site procedures.
• Cook up transport of hazardous materials in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture and participate in site safety meetings, JHAs, and incident investigations.
• Ensure environmental controls are followed during transport and storage of materials.

Qualifications

• Required: Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Required: 3–5 years of logistics or supply chain experience, preferably in mining, construction, or heavy industry.
• Required: Strong understanding of freight coordination and inventory management.
• Preferred: Prior experience in an open-pit or underground mining operation.
• Preferred: Knowledge of heavy equipment transport and bulk materials handling.
• Preferred: Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Pronto, Oracle, etc.).
• Preferred: Familiarity with FIFO/DIDO workforce logistics.
