Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Transportation Team.
- Create staff schedules and approve time sheets and use of PTO in UKG.
- Participate in and maintain credentialing in CPR and as a Child Passenger Safety Technician.
- Conduct staff meetings and supervision sessions on a regular basis with the transport team.
- Ensure that Transporters are following safety guidelines, policies, and procedures, of the agency and program.
- Assign additional driving and other building maintenance and cleaning to transporters as needed.
- Complete performance evaluations for Transporters according to agency timelines.
- Follow agency leadership and supervisory practices.
- Ensure that the vehicles are properly and routinely maintained and prepared for client and staff use.
- Oversee building, grounds, and vehicle maintenance and submit necessary requests, work orders, and purchase orders as necessary.
- Keep track of vehicle maintenance logs including lease expiration dates and car seat expirations.
- Participate in regular supervision sessions with Evidence Based Clinical Supervisor.
- Attend and participate in program staff meetings and provide car seat training to visitation and clinical staff as needed.
- Act as a back-up transporter when staff shortages impact program and transportation coverage.
- Complete other duties or tasks as assigned by the Evidence Based Clinical Supervisor, including but not limited to demographic data entry and client satisfaction surveys.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate cultural competence, as well as integrate understanding into daily responsibilities and participate in meeting the objectives of The Salvation Army, Syracuse Area Services Strategic Plan.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three to five years of related experience in Human Services (e.g., Social Worker, Case Worker, Program Manager, Coordinator, or similar role).
- Ability to work as a team member and manage team operations and the ability to provide culturally competent practice.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships within the community as it relates to transporting from multiple facilities, homes, agencies, schools, etc.
- Must have valid NYS Driver’s License and regular access to private transportation.
