Logistics Center Technician/Back-up Driver

Position Summary

The Logistics Center Technician/Back-up Driver primarily focuses on the receiving, cleaning, testing, inventory control, and storage of Cryoport temperature-controlled shippers. This role is also responsible, as needed, for the pickup and delivery of Cryoport’s temperature-controlled shippers (also known as dewars) between Cryoport’s Logistics Center and client locations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform the receipt and testing of all incoming Cryoport temperature controlled shippers.
  • Perform all shipment processing in Cryoportal 2.0 in accordance with Work Instruction and SOP.
  • Perform the shipper cleaning process to ensure shippers maintain pharmaceutical elegance.
  • Responsible for inventory cycle counts for fixed assets and consumable goods.
  • Ensure all job-related paperwork is correct, error-free, and completed in real-time as per SOPs.
  • EFFECTIVELY communicate and correspond with other business units, clients, drivers, etc.
  • Regularly check SOP's and work instructions for assigned Logistics Center activities.
  • Practice safely operating mechanical equipment, including a forklift, pallet jack, and handcarts.
  • Avoidance of all safety standards and good record keeping, ensuring all operational activities are executed accurately and in a timely manner, in accordance with specific procedures and processes as defined in Work Instructions.
  • Available for infrequent overtime work as necessary and to be willing to attend site, out of hours in the case of emergency or extraordinary work requirement.
  • Assist in the supervision of temporary contract staff as required.
  • To participate in client audits and facility presentations as needed.
  • Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes.
  • Follow routes and time schedule.
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle.
  • Ask for feedback on the services provided and address clients’ complaints.
  • Use Samsara Software or equivalent to complete logs and reports required by SOPs.
  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
  • Ensure all traffic laws are observed.
  • Create a team environment and culture.
  • Ensure safety precautions are implemented and maintained during transit and while in the warehouse.
  • Perform other logistic center duties as assigned when necessary.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver’s license while operating company Vehicles.
  • Good driving record with no more than 2 traffic violations in the most recent 3-year period.
  • Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver.
  • Able to lift/carry up to 20-80 lbs.
  • Frequent physical activities, walking, lifting, standing, cleaning, counting, etc.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English.
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically with Chrome/Edge and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Prior experience with pick/pack, ship, receive deliveries and inventory control procedure, preferred.

Compensation

$22-$24.50/hr depending on experience.
