Job Summary

The Logistics Associate reports directly to the Laydown Manager and plays a key role in supporting the transportation of materials and equipment between the storage areas, offsite storage facilities, and the job site in addition to supporting day-to-day operations by coordinating, communicating, and handling logistics to keep projects moving smoothly. This position is responsible for assisting with the loading and unloading of all assets, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to and from the site. The Logistics Associate will maintain regular communication with the laydown manager and will provide real-time updates on the status of deliveries. The role requires operating a variety of company vehicles, including trucks up to 26 feet in length, and the candidate must be comfortable driving and handling a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment. Experience in logistics or warehouse operations and the ability to perform physical tasks are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • When necessary, performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
  • Supports the storage of MW and other vendor assets at designated storage areas, off-site facilities, as well as the safe delivery of goods from those areas to the laydown yard.
  • Responsible for operating company vehicles and aiding in the transportation of assets from our storage facility to their installation location while maintaining fleet and rental truck gas, tire pressure, and cleanliness
  • Assist the laydown manager in the receiving and tracking process for all assets arriving at the laydown yard. This involves data entry, photography, and impeccable organization.
  • Will be responsible for the daily pickup of small packages from the off-site mailbox center to deliver to the site.
  • Scan and maintain files for all receipts to share with the Logistics Manager
  • Assist in weekly cleaning of the storage areas and inventory of Logistics supplies, including emptying trash as well as follow prescribed MW safety regulations.
  • Stays in constant communication with the Laydown Manager, other Associates, as well as onsite staff to ensure timely deliveries and up-to-date information.
  • Operates material handling equipment or hand trucks to convey, move, or hoist materials. Utilizes tools and materials such as a steel bander and stretch wrap safely and efficiently.
  • Protecting and storing artworks in progress before installation
  • Warehouse work, including putting artworks in racks, removing artworks from racks, and making packaging for various types of artworks.
  • Will support other MW installation teams, which could include light office furniture assembly, purchasing runs or other pickups as needed
  • Will attend daily logistics standups in person as well as attend required Meow Wolf meetings.
  • Keep best practices standards in place to ensure safety.
  • Organize daily tasks to meet daily and weekly goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, and has experience working as part of a team
  • Adaptable to changing needs and tasks
  • Google Suite proficient
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Forklift and other heavy equipment operating experience
  • Experience fabricating or handling art or other high-value materials
  • Proficient with tools used to assemble furniture and equipment
  • Familiarity with woodshop tools and hardware
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment
  • Good critical thinking skills
  • Proficient with Google Sheets

Work Environment and Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.

Work Environment: This role operates in a warehouse, stockroom, and shipping/receiving environment, with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts. The position requires frequent interaction with team members, vendors, and internal departments to coordinate shipments and inventory needs. Work areas may include loading docks, storage aisles, and packaging stations where safety protocols must always be followed. Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety shoes, or reflective vests, may be required based on the task. The schedule may also involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, or occasional overtime to meet operational demands.

Physical Demands: This role is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and carry materials throughout the shift. The position frequently involves lifting, moving, and handling items weighing up to 50 pounds, with occasional assistance or the use of mechanical devices for heavier loads. It also requires the ability to push and pull carts or pallet jacks loaded with product, as well as the ability to climb ladders or step stools to retrieve or store inventory. Repetitive motions such as labeling, scanning, sorting, and packing are common, and the role requires visual inspection of products, reading labels, and operating handheld scanners or warehouse software tools. Extended periods of standing or walking may be necessary to complete daily tasks. The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Work Schedule

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work a flexible schedule. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $22/hr. "Off-scale hourly rates” and other components of pay, i.e., an hourly rate that is higher than the published system-wide hourly rate at the designated position grade, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
