Logistics Associate

Overview

As a Logistics & Inventory Associate, you’ll be a vital part of keeping Wayfair’s Physical Retail stores running smoothly. You’ll manage inventory flow, unload shipments, and maintain product accuracy to ensure our customers have a seamless shopping experience. When needed, you’ll also step into customer-facing roles to support curbside pickups and returns.

What Does a Logistics & Inventory Associate Do?

• Demonstrate Reliability: Be present and punctual for your full shift every day.
• Receive and Process Shipments: Unload incoming furniture and products, including moving large, heavy items safely. Accurately process and document inventory details.
• Customer Engagement: Own the customer experience for curbside transactions, carry-outs, pickups, and returns. Use POS systems effectively to keep these interactions smooth & positive. Step in to assist customer-facing operations as needed, helping ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for all Wayfair guests.
• Ensure Inventory Accuracy: Use scanning technology to record carton-level details like product condition, quantity, and store location.
• Maintain Order Management: Track both in-store and online orders handled through back-of-house operations to ensure they are fulfilled on time.
• Manage Inventory Movement: Pick, stage, and move products from storage to sales floor while keeping everything organized and in its proper place.
• Support Operational Excellence: Work with store teams to resolve inventory discrepancies, maintain stock accuracy, and uphold Wayfair’s commitment to efficiency.
• Operate as “One Team”: You will support Wayfair’s total store goals by cross-training across key store functions, including sales and back-of-house operations. You'll flex where needed to support customers, teammates, store needs and peak business periods.

Education & Experience

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months in a retail backroom, warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment is preferred.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Physical Activity: Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.
• Mobility & Movement: Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.
• Lifting Ability: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis. Some projects may involve heavier items, which must be managed with proper assistance or equipment.
• Vision Requirements: Includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Temperature Flexibility: Comfortable in environments with varying temperature conditions.
• Noise Tolerance: Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity.
• Safety Awareness: Minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazards—must adhere to all safety protocols.
