Logistics Associate

About the Role

This position is a 50% office and 50% warehouse floor role in our Fond du Lac Distribution Center. As a Logistics Associate, you will provide data entry support to the shipping and receiving departments, generate documentation, and play an essential role in keeping us at the forefront of global innovation and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Enter purchase order receipts and generate labels or other documentation as required.
• Work with Purchasing and Receiving personnel to resolve discrepancies in purchase order items, quantity, or numbers.
• Process small parcel shipments using web-based shipping programs, including creating labels and attaching them to packages.
• Generate end-of-day paperwork, Bills of Lading, packing lists, and other documents using EIS’s ERP system or carrier web-based systems.
• Schedule pick-ups with appropriate carriers.
• Process shipments in EIS’s ERP system for invoicing, including issuing material, closing work orders, and performing customer shipment entries.
• File shipping and receiving paperwork and track shipments as requested.
• File and track freight claims from start to finish.
• Set up inventory locations and perform cycle counting as required.
• Perform accurate quality and quantity checks on all outgoing orders to ensure completeness, accuracy, and undamaged condition.
• Mark products with identification numbers according to departmental procedures.
• Perform accurate inventory transfers using scan guns and follow proper procedures for issuing stock materials.
• Use a tape measure and apply measurements to processes.
• Package goods for small parcel or common carrier shipments with necessary paperwork.
• Operate power tools safely to pack, crate, or blanket wrap materials for shipment.
• Assist with unloading incoming products and loading LTL trucks using forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Move product in or out of warehouse racking using a forklift.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to four years of related shipping or distribution experience.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks without supervision, troubleshoot issues, and resolve product or equipment-related problems.
• Knowledge of computers and data processing.
• Knowledge of shipping documentation requirements for domestic and international transport.
• Understanding of freight terms, NMFC classifications, and carrier service areas and services.
• Ability to prepare forms, reports, and routine correspondence.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with employees, vendors, and customers.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping reports, bills of lading, invoices, pick lists, and related documents.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50-100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is a combination of moderate and loud.

Personal Clothing & Equipment

• Requires the use of safety glasses and safety shoes where necessary.

Certifications & Licenses

• Ability to maintain a forklift operator's license (training provided).
• Ability to operate a forklift truck.
