About the role

The Login Technician I is responsible for receiving and processing samples, reviewing Chain of Custody (COC) documentation, and accurately entering sample information into the laboratory database system (TALS). This role ensures samples meet laboratory requirements, including proper volume, preservation, collection procedures, and holding times, playing a key part in regulatory compliance and timely delivery of laboratory testing services.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process incoming samples, including unpacking coolers, labeling containers, scanning shipping documentation, and completing sample login activities.
  • Accurately enter sample and Chain of Custody (COC) information into the laboratory database system with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Verify sample preservation, condition, and documentation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Distribute samples to designated laboratory departments and storage locations, including walk-in refrigerators and other assigned areas.
  • Support sample disposal activities by maintaining disposal queues and completing associated documentation and tasks.
  • Prepare bottle kits, add preservatives to sample containers as required, and assist with shipping, receiving, and sample login operations.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, coolers, sinks, tables, and sampling equipment using approved cleaning agents and procedures in accordance with SOPs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies to ensure work is planned and performed in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
  • Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and provide professional assistance to clients, including helping with method selection, COC completion, and processing credit card payments.
  • Receive and ship samples to other laboratories; perform occasional courier duties if needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs such as Outlook, Explorer, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs routinely and safely, and work standing for most of the day.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Schedule

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, with possible overtime.

Pay

$19 - $22.20 per hour, based on experience.
