Locum Tenens Pathologist

About the role

Pathologist providing diagnostic services with a focus on biopsy analysis, cancer resections, peripheral blood smear reviews, and non-gyn cytology.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic evaluations including biopsies (GI, GYN, breast, GU, liver, skin) and cancer resections (breast, lung, colon, others).
• Review peripheral blood smears and non-gyn cytology samples.
• Work primarily Monday through Friday, with call responsibilities.
• Handle approximately 40-50 cases daily.
• Provide vacation coverage and collaborate with an outside pathology team for overflow backup.
• Utilize digital sign-out system for pathology reports.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with biopsies, cancer resections, blood smears, and cytology.
• Familiarity with digital pathology systems.
• Strong diagnostic and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to coordinate with backup teams and handle high case volumes.

• Deliver accurate and timely pathology diagnoses.
• Manage a high caseload efficiently.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams as needed.
• Maintain quality and compliance standards.
