Locum Tenens Cardiologist for Inpatient and ER Coverage

About the Role

This position is for a Board-Certified Cardiovascular Disease Physician to provide inpatient and emergency room care within a regional healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Manage adult patients with cardiovascular conditions in inpatient and ER settings
• Provide day shift coverage across four sites within a hub-and-spoke model
• Offer call coverage, primarily for consult notifications, with in-house APP support at night
• Collaborate with APPs, ED physicians, and hospital medicine staff to ensure comprehensive patient care

Requirements

• Board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases
• Experience in inpatient and ER cardiovascular management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills

Additional Details

• Support staff includes APPs and ED physicians
• Patient population mainly adults
• On-site role with variable case load
• No prescriptive authority required
