Schedule and Coverage

  • 18-week assignment starting 09-17-26
  • Scheduled + On Call required
  • Standard 5, 8-hour shifts (08:00 - 16:00)

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert care for patients with injuries and disorders affecting bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves.
  • Conduct a wide range of orthopedic surgeries, including fracture repair, joint replacement, arthroscopy, and soft tissue repair.
  • Provide emergency care for traumatic injuries requiring immediate surgical intervention.
  • Manage conditions through non-invasive techniques, such as medication or physical therapy, when appropriate.
  • Provide patient education about conditions, treatment options, and post-care management strategies.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.

Skills

  • Proficient in performing a variety of both minimally invasive and complex orthopedic procedures.
  • Ability to assess and diagnose musculoskeletal issues accurately and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Capability to make quick, informed decisions during surgery and in emergency situations.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex medical information to patients.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and precision.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training program in orthopedic surgery accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS).
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Oregon.
  • At least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting (preferred).
