Pay

$320/hour - $325/hour

Schedule

• 13-week assignment starting 11-01-26
• Scheduled shifts with no call
• Standard 5-day, 8-hour shifts: 19:00 - 07:00

About the Role

• Temporary locum tenens assignment at an acute care hospital
• Perform a range of cardiothoracic surgeries
• Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Be available for emergency surgeries, such as trauma cases or unexpected complications
• Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans
• Educate patients about post-operative care and follow-up requirements
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
• Residency training program in surgery accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
• Board certification in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS)
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Wisconsin
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• At least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting (preferred)
• Expertise in performing a wide variety of cardiothoracic surgeries with minimal supervision
• Ability to assess complex medical situations and make sound decisions quickly
• Excellent manual dexterity and precision
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams
