Locum | Physician Pediatric Medical Genetics

About the role

This position is located in a clinic setting and requires biochemical (metabolic) genetics experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM with occasional weekday pager calls after clinic hours. There is also a 24-hour weekend call requirement, averaging 4 to 10 call patients per week. The typical patient load is 15 to 18 patients per week.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with patients
  • Provide genetic counseling services
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and interpret results
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in research activities

Requirements

  • Biochemical (metabolic) genetics experience required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Ongoing leave coverage available

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD/DO)
  • Board certification in Medical Genetics
  • Current medical license in good standing

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
