Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner position in Minneapolis, MN.

About the role

This is a temporary locum tenens assignment lasting 13 weeks, starting on November 26, 2026. The role is based in an acute care hospital setting.

Pay

$100/hour - $115/hour

Schedule

  • Standard 5-day workweek, 8-hour shifts (08:00 - 16:30)
  • Scheduled coverage with no call required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Minnesota
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to the specialty (preferred)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
  • Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to the specialty
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
