Locum Gastroenterology Physician job in Springfield, OR - Make $350/hr - $375/hr

A temporary locum tenens assignment lasting 26 weeks at an acute-care hospital in Springfield, OR.

Pay

$350 – $375 per hour.

Schedule

• Standard 3×12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00).
• Scheduled coverage plus on-call duties required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of digestive-system disorders in adults (and potentially children, depending on the position).
• Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopies, X-rays, CT scans, and blood tests.
• Perform endoscopic procedures to diagnose and treat digestive conditions (scope of practice varies by assignment).
• Develop and implement treatment plans.
• Manage chronic digestive conditions and provide ongoing patient care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate patients on digestive health and disease prevention.
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients.
• Stay current on the latest advancements in gastroenterology through continuing education.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency training in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
• Fellowship training in gastroenterology (preferred for most positions).
• Board certification in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA.
• Active, unrestricted Oregon medical license.
• At least one year of clinical or hospital-based gastroenterology experience (preferred for most positions).

• In-depth knowledge of gastroenterology principles, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of digestive diseases.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient rapport and team collaboration.
