A temporary locum tenens assignment lasting 13 weeks, starting 08-17-26, at a pharmacy-based facility in Boston, MA.

About the role

Provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages in an outpatient setting. This position offers a standard 5-day, 8-hour night shift schedule (19:00 – 07:00) with no call requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, including infections, allergies, and respiratory conditions.
  • Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide preventive care, including immunizations, cancer screenings, and health education.
  • Perform minor procedures (e.g., skin biopsies, joint injections, wound care) as permitted by state regulations.
  • Collaborate with specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
  • Stay current on advancements in family medicine through continuing education.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training in family medicine accredited by ACGME or AOA.
  • Board certification in family medicine by ABFM or AOA.
  • Active, unrestricted Massachusetts medical license.
  • At least one year of experience in a primary care setting (preferred).

Pay
