A locum tenens Nurse Practitioner position in Critical Care Pediatrics, located in Corpus Christi, TX, with a pay range of $105/hour - $120/hour.
About the role
This is a temporary assignment lasting 26 weeks, starting on 08-24-26. The facility is a children's hospital.
Schedule and Coverage
- Scheduled shifts with on-call requirements
- Standard 3 shifts of 12 hours each (07:00 - 19:00)
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

- Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
- Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
- Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Texas
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty (preferred)
