About the role
Provide comprehensive cardiac care in an acute-care hospital. Specific duties vary by facility, patient population, and cardiology subspecialty.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive cardiac care to patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans for cardiovascular conditions.
- Perform cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures (if applicable to subspecialty).
- Educate and counsel patients on heart-disease prevention, risk factors, and healthy lifestyles.
- Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
- Stay current on cardiology advancements through continuing education.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency in internal medicine.
- Fellowship training in cardiology (preferred for some positions).
- Board certification in cardiology by ABIM or AOA.
- Active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license.
- At least one year of clinical cardiac-care experience (preferred).

- In-depth knowledge of cardiology principles, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (if applicable).

- Meticulous attention to detail and adaptability to changing patient conditions.

Schedule
- 13-week assignment starting 09-21-26.
- Standard 5-day work week, 8-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:00).
- Scheduled coverage; no call required.
Pay
$250 – $280 per hour.
