About the role
Locomotive Engineer Training Program with New Jersey Transit Rail Operations, INC. This is a Train and Engine Service position designed to train and qualify participants as Locomotive Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Complete a comprehensive training program that includes classroom instruction, simulator training, and on-the-job training.
- Learn and adhere to all federal railroad safety regulations and company operating rules.
- Operate locomotives and related equipment under supervision during the training period.
- Demonstrate proficiency in locomotive operations, air brake systems, and railroad signaling.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of locomotives.
- Maintain accurate logs and records as required by federal and company regulations.
