Locksmith - Full Time (Harrah's Laughlin)

About the role

At Harrah’s & Tropicana Laughlin, our Engineering Team keeps the property running smoothly—ensuring comfort, safety, and reliability for every guest and team member. The Locksmith is responsible for maintaining the mag-stripe and hard lock systems at the property for guest rooms, offices, and other areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mag-stripe and hard lock systems at the property for guest rooms, offices, etc.
• Document departmental logs accurately and legibly.
• Maintain personal communication for 24-hour access (e.g., cellular telephone).
• Review all departmental documentation related to key control/authorization.
• Order and prepare purchase orders for mag-stripe and hard lock systems.
• Repair mag-stripe and hard lock systems.
• Assist the Security Operations department with other tasks as needed.
• Comply with all safety requirements as outlined by OSHA.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining locks, safes, and access systems.
• Knowledge of electronic lock systems (e.g., Saflok, Onity, RFID, or keyless entry).
• Ability to cut and duplicate keys accurately and efficiently.
• Familiarity with security hardware including door closers, panic bars, and master key systems.
• Valid driver’s license for service calls and mobile work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Customer service orientation with clear, professional communication.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts.
• Stand for long periods or entire shifts.
• Work in hot or cold temperatures.
• Walk for the entire shift.
• Maneuver in confined spaces.
• Reach, bend, stoop, and twist.
• Tolerate high-noise environments.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Familiarity with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Push/pull up to 75 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must obtain Nevada Gaming registration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hotel lock systems (Saflok, Onity, Salto, etc.).
• Safe installation and repair expertise.
• Certification from ALOA (Associated Locksmiths of America).
