Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs locking systems
• Checks for proper operation of locking devices
• Disassembles padlocks/safe locks/door locks
• Repairs or replaces worn pins/springs/other parts
• Adjusts pin length
• Inserts new or repaired pins into locks to change combination
• Fabricates new or duplicate keys using key cutting machine
• Prepares and maintains a file of installed locks and a list of doors that are keyed together or separately
• Prepares and maintains a list of personnel assigned keys to facility locks
• Maintains equipment/supply inventory
• Performs work under the general direction of a designated supervisor
• Performs other related work as assigned

Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older with four or more years of on-the-job training in a trade area, or completion of a relevant technical program, or certification in relevant field.
