About the role
Responsible for installing, repairing, rekeying, and maintaining all locks on campus.
Responsibilities
- Maintains, repairs, removes, and installs cores and locks in all university buildings.
- Install or repair entry dead bolts, combination locks, and desk and file cabinet locks.
- Install and/or repair panic bars on all campus buildings.
- Repair and adjust door closers.
- Cuts and issues keys for all buildings offices, dorm rooms, vehicles, file cabinets, and desks.
- Keep record of issued keys.
- Serach through key data system to identify key holders and keys assigned.
- Maintain key catalog system for all campus buildings.
- Identify lost keys and return them to the appropriate department.
- Install security plates.
- Check all locks in new buildings to ensure correct operation.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Works various schedules and is required to be on call.
Requirements
- Must possess mechanical knowledge of lock/key equipment and systems.
- Experience cutting keys.
- Experience auditing and maintaining inventory.
- Available and willing to work after-hours on-call duty, on a rotating basis with other shop personnel.
- This position requires driving University vehicles.
- Second position / alternate schedule available.
Qualifications
- At least one (1) year of professional experience in this trade.
- Experience in higher education and/or government.
- Proficiency using e-mail and portable electronic communication devices.
- Experience using AiM (AssetWorks).
Benefits
Normal workdays are Tuesday through Saturday. Must be able to work on call on a rotating basis with other shop personnel. This position requires driving University vehicles. Second position / alternate schedule available.
Pay
$3,646 - $3,791.67 monthly
Schedule
Normal work hours start at 8:00AM and end at 5:00PM. Normal workdays are Tuesday through Saturday.
