Local Truck Driver - Class A / 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday 2:00PM - 10:30PM)

Responsibilities

• Load and unload truck either individually or with assistance of dockworkers
• Drive tractor-trailer in all weather conditions
• Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight
• Secure of freight may be required through strapping or other methods
• Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy
• Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations
• Participate in required on-call rotation for after hours and weekend deliveries
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
• Other duties as assigned daily

Requirements

• Ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement within 60 days of hire
• Successfully pass background check, drug screen, and physical ability test
• Knowledge of local geographical area
• Able to converse with customers and warehouse workers professionally
• Able to maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Able to use a mobile computer/GPS
• Able to work an average of 45 hours per week
• Regular and reliable attendance

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of Class A driving experience
• Class A CDL license
• Clean driving record, required

Skills
