Responsibilities
This position is responsible for transporting mail, cheese, mailing equipment, cardboard materials, and other products between company locations while ensuring deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on time. The role also supports warehouse operations, trailer movement, and inventory organization.
- Completing daily pickup and delivery routes between company locations, averaging 20–22 pickups per day.
- Operating a straight truck and yard spotter in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performing pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintaining accurate trip documentation, including mileage, load information, and transfer records.
- Loading and unloading products using pallet jacks, forklifts, and manual handling techniques.
- Moving, positioning, and sealing trailers while ensuring paperwork matches shipments and temperature requirements are met.
- Traveling to nearby facilities and delivery locations, including storage facilities and cheese pickup locations in and around the Monroe area.
- Supporting warehouse operations by organizing materials, coordinating recycling activities, and assisting with loading and unloading products.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicating effectively with internal departments, management, and customers to ensure transportation needs are met.
Qualifications
Previous truck driving experience is required. The ideal candidate is flexible, customer-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing schedules and priorities.
- Class A CDL required.
- Minimum of 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience preferred.
- Ability to meet all DOT requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to manage changing routes, schedules, and business needs.
- Dependability, accountability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic truck inspections and equipment checks.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
