Local Delivery Driver - D10K
Pay: $26.30 / hour
About the role
This position delivers to all types of customers including Foodservice. The role involves driving the delivery vehicle, delivering product to stores, and ongoing rotating and stocking of product on shelves, displays, coolers, and vending equipment. Responsibilities include building small displays, setting up promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners, generating invoices, and daily settlement of cash and charges. The position requires frequent interaction with store management and receiving personnel for load acceptance.
Physical demands include lifting and loading cases ranging from 20-45 pounds repeatedly during work hours, pushing/pulling 40-150 pounds of force occasionally, and reaching, squatting, and bending while delivering and merchandising products. Unloading pallets of product from the delivery vehicle using an electronic pallet jack or 2-wheel hand truck is also required.
The role involves safely operating a small Commercial Motor Vehicle (greater than 10,000 lbs but less than 26,000 lbs -- D10K).
Responsibilities
- Deliver product and execute all promotions
- Service all scheduled customers by the end of shift
- Merchandise all accounts to local standards
- Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each account
Requirements
- 21 years or older
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Valid DOT Medical Card required
Helpful Experience
- Merchandising products (e.g., filling shelves, building displays, making products look attractive on shelves, rotating product, cleaning shelves, or eliminating out of stocks and out of date products)
- Using equipment to aid in hauling loads (e.g., operating pallet jacks, using dock plates, or using load bars and straps)
- Operating equipment (pallet jacks, lift gates on trailers, hand trucks, breakdowns, etc.)
