Local Contract Physical Therapist - $70 per hour

About the Role

RCM HealthCare Travel is seeking a local contract Physical Therapist to provide in-home services to a 2nd-grade student with significant physical, neurological, and multiple disabilities in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (zip code 15207). The role involves conducting evaluations, providing direct therapy, and collaborating with educational teams to support the student's access to the educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct educationally relevant physical therapy evaluations to identify barriers impacting student access to the school environment and curriculum.
• Develop measurable IEP goals and provide direct physical therapy services focused on functional mobility, positioning, and participation in educational activities.
• Assess, fit, and train staff on adaptive equipment including wheelchairs, gait trainers, standers, and specialized seating systems.
• Consult with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families regarding safe transfers, positioning, mobility, and classroom accommodations.
• Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, progress reports, and re-evaluations in compliance with IDEA and Pennsylvania state regulations.

Requirements

• Master's or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Pennsylvania Physical Therapist License.
• Current Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.

Skills

• Knowledge of IDEA regulations, IEP development, and school-based documentation requirements.
• Experience working with pediatric students with severe physical, neurological, and multiple disabilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with multidisciplinary educational teams.
• Experience with adaptive equipment, positioning, mobility training, and safe transfer techniques.

Schedule

• 45-minute in-person session, 1 time per week during the school year.
• Preference for sessions during school hours or immediately after school.
• Additional indirect/documentation time and round trip mileage paid.

Pay

Hourly Rate: $70.00 (direct and indirect time) + round trip mileage.
