Local Contract Physical Therapist - $58 per hour

Local contract position in Everett, Washington. Start date: 11/02/2026, duration: 12 weeks, 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM).

About the role

The Physical Therapist will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. The in-home setting could be a patient's private residence or in a patient's room in an independent living facility. This role allows the Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat in the most functional environment—the patient's home.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.
• Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements, and work-related meetings.
• Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings.
• Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address the comprehensive needs of the patient.
• Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
• Adapt program and/or plan of care according to the needs of the individual patient.
• Promote a safe environment and enforce the elimination of fire and safety hazards.
• Order supplies and equipment as necessary; clean, maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment.
• Prioritize patient service, ensuring patients and families receive high-quality care in a compassionate atmosphere.
• Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and application of appropriate tests and measures.
• Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the patient and caregivers, implement the physical therapy treatment plan, and complete all related documentation.
• Provide therapeutic techniques including:
  • Therapeutic exercise (aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance training).
  • Functional training.
  • Manual therapy.
  • Airway clearance techniques.
  • Integumentary repair and protection.
  • Use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities.
• Provide health and wellness education on chronic disease management, falls assessment, and interventions to reduce fall risk.
• Perform case management in the home and community.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and/or apply adaptive devices, and train patients in their use, including orthotics and prosthetics.
• Select appropriate activities suited to the individual's physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interest.
• Instruct patients in skills and techniques required for participation in mobility activities and evaluate patient progress.
• Perform routine reexamination as needed to modify or progress the treatment plan.
• Incorporate health and wellness programming into treatment plans.
• Perform home and community mobility assessments and provide recommendations for safe mobility.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility.
• Master's degree in Physical Therapy; or Master's degree in a Physical Therapy-related field plus a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; or Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience.
• Qualifying Physical Therapy degree earned outside the U.S. must be evaluated as equivalent to a U.S. degree in Physical Therapy.
• Valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from patients' residences.

Compliance

• Comply with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures, including those within the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act, and HIPAA.
• Participate in required orientation and training programs.
• Promptly report concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance to supervisor, Compliance Liaison, or the Compliance Officer.
• Cooperate with monitoring and audit functions and investigations.
• Participate in quality assurance and process improvement activities as requested.

Schedule

• 40 hours per week.
• 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM).
• 12-week duration with a minimum guarantee of 40 hours.
