About the role

VyTalent Solutions is seeking an Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist to provide comprehensive orientation and mobility services for visually impaired students during the 2026‑2027 school year.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive orientation and mobility evaluations to assess students' spatial awareness, travel skills, and environmental navigation.
• Provide direct instruction in safe, independent travel techniques across school, home, and community environments.
• Teach concepts related to spatial orientation, cane skills, route planning, and environmental cues tailored to visually impaired students.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and TVIs to support safe navigation and access within educational settings.
• Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to functional travel goal development, and maintain compliant progress reports.

Requirements

• ACVREP Orientation & Mobility Certification (COMS) and valid Texas state credentials.
• Preferred: prior school‑based experience.

Schedule

Part‑time position, 8 hours per week, aligned with the 2026‑2027 school year schedule.
