Local Contract OR RN - $58-63 per hour

Local contract nursing position in Neptune City, New Jersey for an Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN).

About the role

Primarily responsible for applying the nursing process to the care of veteran patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. This includes, but is not limited to, assuring that appropriate documentation reflects assessment of patient needs, interdisciplinary treatment plans, clinical intervention, and evaluation of patients' responses to treatments. Also responsible for assigning and evaluating the work of non-nursing direct care providers assigned to the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop effective nursing care plans
• Implement and document clinical interventions and patient responses to treatments
• Assign and evaluate the work of non-nursing direct care providers in the OR
• Perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel
• Float to Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) as needed
• Handle endovascular, spine, neuro, ortho, and ortho trauma cases
• Scrub experience is a plus
• Work required holidays as needed
• On-call requirement after 90 days

Requirements

• Active NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Level I Trauma experience
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• ACLS and PALS certifications from AHA

Schedule

• 13-week contract starting 09/07/2026
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour evening shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM)
• 3 shifts per week, every other weekend
