About the role

Local contract nursing position at MVHS Inc. – Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY. This role is on a 64-bed Med Surg Stroke Stepdown unit serving an adult patient population with common diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal/dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues.

Schedule

• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• 12-hour night shifts: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• No on-call requirement
• Block scheduling not guaranteed
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active New York RN license
• 2+ years of recent Med Surg experience with Stroke/Stepdown required
• Travel experience required
• AHA BLS certification
• NIHSS certification (may be obtained before start)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Ability to work with equipment such as IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
