Local Contract Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $55-57 per hour

VyTalent Solutions is seeking a local contract nurse for an ICU - Intensive Care Unit position in Bay City, Texas.

About the role

This is a 13-week local contract opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a hospital setting. The role offers a competitive pay range of $54.62 - $57.35 per hour, with a schedule to be discussed with your recruiter. Both local and traveler candidates are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in a 6-bed ICU with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, adjusting to 3:1 for low acuity or 1:1 for high acuity patients.
• Monitor and adjust ventilators, including Puritan Bennett 840.
• Administer critical medications such as cardiac drips, sedation, anti-arrhythmic medications, Sandostatin, and insulin.
• Collaborate with hospitalists and ER doctors to ensure continuous patient observation and intervention.
• Utilize Meditech EMR for patient care documentation.
• Provide nursing care for patients with conditions including Afib, RVR, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Severe Anemia, GI Bleeds, DKA, and post-operative total joints.
• Respond to emergencies, including stroke protocols requiring TPA administration if appropriate.
• Observe and monitor patients with ventilators and other critical devices.
• Adhere to hospital policies, including uniform requirements (Grey, Navy blue, or Black scrubs).
