About the role

At American Medical Staffing (AMS), we are seeking a local contract nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a Neuroscience contract assignment in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced neuro ICU nursing care for patients with post-neurosurgical, stroke, and neurotrauma conditions.
  • Manage vents, IV drips, and telemetry monitoring, ensuring patient safety and stability.
  • Respond to emergency situations with expert dysrhythmia and crisis management skills.
  • Apply to Stepdown Unit and occasionally to ED/MedSurg for ICU care as needed.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience as an ICU RN.
  • Qualified applicants must have strong neuro experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, stroke).
  • Must have VA or Compact License in hand at submittal.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required via American Heart Association.
  • EPIC proficiency.
  • Valid VA or Compact RN license.
  • Drivers License for address verification prior to offer acceptance.

Qualifications

  • Qualivis Submission Form and current NURSYS report required.

Skills

  • Strong neuro experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, stroke).
  • Vents, IV drip titration, Telemetry monitoring, Conscious Sedation, Dysrhythmia, and emergency management.
  • EPIC proficiency.
  • VA or Compact RN license.
  • Drivers License for address verification.

Pay

$85.00/hour

Schedule

48 hours per week, Night 4x12-Hours (19:00 - 07:30) (Note: 3x12 or 4x12 shift, OT after 48 hours)
