About the role
The TRA Interim ED Director is the department administrator for the assigned department. S/he establishes and enforces policies, procedures, standards and objectives; Directs and supervises staff as well as workflow. Position has budgetary or fiscal accountability. Responsible 24 hours a day for the ongoing effective operation of the assigned departments by exerting a leadership role which supports the hospital’s mission, vision, goals and objectives, while focusing on the patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and the community as customers.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and enforces policies, procedures, standards and objectives for the assigned department.
- Directs and supervises staff as well as workflow.
- Exerts a leadership role supporting the hospital’s mission, vision, goals and objectives.
- Ensures 24-hour accountability for the ongoing effective operation of the assigned departments.
- Assesses, improves, coordinates and integrates the departments' services and standards of care into the hospital’s primary function.
- Affirms timekeeping, employee evaluation, meets applicable regulatory standards, and approves supply orders.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years progressive nursing management experience in a hospital setting with three years supervisory experience required.
- Prior supervisory experience in the Emergency Department Required.
Certification/Licensure
- Must be currently licensed to practice profession as required by law in state of practice or policy.
- Must meet all certification requirements for each nursing specialty supported.
- American Heart Association - CPR-Basic Life Support.
