Local Contract Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse - $45-53 per hour

About the role

The Orthopedic unit is a 34-bed surgical specialty unit focused on the care of patients undergoing operative and non-operative management of musculoskeletal conditions. Common case types include total joint replacements (hip, knee, shoulder), fracture repairs, spine surgeries, and other orthopedic procedures. The unit operates in a fast-paced, throughput-driven environment with a strong emphasis on same-day or next-day post-operative mobility and discharge readiness.

Responsibilities

• Nurses are experienced in post-operative care, pain management (including PCA and multimodal regimens), neurovascular assessments, and early mobilization protocols.
• Close collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, physical and occupational therapy, and care management is essential to achieving optimal functional outcomes and efficient patient progression.
• As we continue to evolve this floor with new CMS guidelines, other surgical patient populations may be introduced to this floor; such as urology.

• BLS required
