Local Contract Med/Surg Tele RN - $44-51 per hour

About the role

Medical Solutions is seeking a local contract RN for a Med Surg / Telemetry position in Lufkin, Texas. The assignment is for 6 weeks, 48 hours per week, consisting of 12‑hour day shifts. Employment type is local contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with common diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, pneumonia (PNA), chronic kidney disease (CKD), and medical/surgical telemetry.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret strips; RNs are expected to read telemetry strips.
• Administer and titrate medications as ordered (including drips when applicable).
• Manage patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and high‑flow oxygen therapy.
• Float to all medical/surgical units as needed.
• Complete unit‑specific orientation in Kurth Tower (all med/surg tele).
• Follow the navy‑blue scrub dress code.

Requirements

• Current RN license (state of Texas implied).
• Ability to work 12‑hour day shifts, 48 hours per week.
• Availability to work every other weekend and holidays as required.
• Willingness to float to all med/surg units.
• Strong communication and time‑management skills.

Skills

• Effective communication and time management.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, and high‑flow oxygen equipment.
• Familiarity with medication titration and drip management (if applicable).
