Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed
- Monitor and interpret complex patient data, including hemodynamic status, lab results, and diagnostic findings
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced ICU equipment, such as ventilators, CRRT machines, and balloon pumps
- Respond to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, assessments, and interventions
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted RN license in California
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience (within the last 3 years)
- Proficiency in ICU skills, including ventilator management, titration of vasoactive medications, and care of patients with complex medical conditions
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a changing schedule
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Epic or other electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN)
- Experience in a high-acuity ICU or trauma center setting
- Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and other advanced ICU interventions
