About the Role

Medical Solutions is seeking a local contract nurse RN for the Emergency Department (ED) in Livingston, Texas. This is a 6-week contract with 48 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts during the day.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient care in a 19-bed ED with 3 trauma bays.
  • Handle triage when qualified.
  • Manage ER holds intermixed within the ER.
  • Care for patients with common diagnoses such as cardiac, GI, psych, COPD, and respiratory illnesses.
  • Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-levels, charge nurses, and support staff.
  • Utilize EMR Paragon and RT equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, etc.).
  • Work with radiology techs for portable x-rays and CT scans.

Requirements

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
  • Experience in an ED setting with ED physicians and mid-levels.
  • Ability to read telemetry strips.
  • Phlebotomy skills (both nurse draw and phlebotomy).
  • Weekend and holiday availability (every other holiday on an A & B rotation).

Qualifications

  • RN license.
  • Experience with cardiac, GI, psych, COPD, and respiratory patients.
  • Proficiency in using EMR Paragon and RT equipment.

Skills

  • Triage management.
  • ER hold management.
  • Telemetry strip reading.
  • Phlebotomy.

Schedule
