About the role
Join Ben E. Keith as a Shuttle Driver and play an important role in keeping our operations moving. This position is ideal for drivers who enjoy predictable routes, being home regularly, and building valuable experience with a respected industry leader.
Responsibilities
- Transport loaded trailers from the branch to designated shuttle locations.
- Return empty trailers to the branch for reloading.
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles while following all DOT and company regulations.
- Maintain scheduled delivery and pickup times.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Communicate any issues, delays, or safety concerns to management immediately.
- Represent Ben E. Keith professionally with customers, vendors, and fellow team members.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Must have Double/Triple endorsements
- Valid Class A CDL with 1- year experience
- DOT qualified and able to meet all DOT requirements
- Good driving record with no more than one moving violation within the past three years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background requirements
- At Least One Year Of Commercial Driving Experience
- Preferred: High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education
- Ability to safely operate tractors with 28', 36', and 48' trailers
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
- Ability to climb in and out of tractors and trailers frequently
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to read route information, product descriptions, and safety documentation
- Normal use of hands, arms, shoulders, legs, and feet to safely perform job duties
