Local CDL Driver/ Yard Operations Crew Member

Safety Focus

The ideal candidate will ensure safe, compliant transport of materials between local company locations while also supporting daily yard activities including material handling, loading/unloading, and facility organization.

Essential Functions

• Safely operate company-owned commercial vehicles (Class A CDL required).
• Transport materials, equipment, and supplies between company locations (local routes, home daily).
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Ensure proper load securement and compliance with all federal and state transportation laws.
• Operate flatbed trailers as required, including properly securing and tying down loads in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety standards to ensure safe and compliant transport of materials.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs and coordinate repairs as required.
• Support other Lanco companies with local shipment moves as needed.
• Load and unload materials using forklifts or other yard equipment.
• Assist with organizing, staging, and inventorying materials in the yard.
• Support incoming and outgoing shipments and verify material accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of yard and warehouse areas.
• Follow all company safety standards and PPE requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist operations team with equipment preparation and material handling tasks.
• Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely movement of materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies.
• Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Experience/Training/Education

• Valid Class A with clean driving record.
• Current DOT medical card.
• Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Forklift and/or heavy equipment operating experience preferred.

Physical And Environmental Elements

• This position requires a combination of road travel and outdoor yard work.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, equipment noise, and active industrial environments is expected.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and operate equipment for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical labor as required.

Compensation/Benefits

The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location.
