Local CDL Driver (CDL w/Hazmat)
About the role
We are hiring a Local Delivery Driver in Wichita, KS. The position involves operating a company-provided straight or box truck to safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations. Responsibilities include managing the flow of cylinders, building lasting relationships with customers, and adhering to safety standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
- Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt.
- Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
- Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
- Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
- Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
- Hazmat Endorsement & Airbrake certification.
- One (1) year of prior Class B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
- In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school within last 12 months and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
- Must be at least 21 years or older.
- Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
- Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
- Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
- Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to obtain a forklift operator certification.
- Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.

$30 per hour with potential for quarterly bonuses.
