Local CDL Driver

Location: Haines City, FL 33844

About the Role

As a CDL Driver, you’ll handle local truckload deliveries with primarily drop-and-hook freight. You’ll deliver and pick up trailers within 100 miles of Haines City, making about 3-4 routes per shift while driving an automatic, 53’ dry van for 10-12 hour shifts. This role offers weekends off, daily home time, and no-touch freight.

Responsibilities

• Handle all local truckload deliveries; primarily drop and hook

• Complete 3-4 routes per shift

Requirements

• 1-year CDL-A driving experience within the past 3 years
• Must be at least 23 years of age or older
• Must possess a valid license to operate a commercial motor vehicle
• Must pass a DOT Physical from a nationally registered DOT-approved physician
• No record of being disqualified to drive
• Successful completion of a DOT road test
• PSP report scores of 10 or below in the past 3 years (higher scores will be reviewed)
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently

Preferred qualifications: Experience in logistics, warehouse, OTR (Over-the-Road), CDL Class A License, or truck and trailer operations.

Work Environment

• Ability to work in extreme conditions, including elements, heat, cold, and air particulates
• Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a vehicle cab for entire shifts of varying lengths
• Noise level in the work environment depends on location
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision

Pay

Hourly pay range: $21.00–$23.00/hr

Schedule

1st Shift: 6:00 AM start time until finished (10-12 hour shifts)
