Local CDL Driver

About the Role

BlueLinx is seeking professional CDL-A drivers to operate newer, well-maintained equipment on local routes while delivering building materials safely and accurately. This position offers a strong work-life balance with competitive hourly pay, home every night, no weekends, first-shift schedules, and a team culture focused on safety, respect, and dependable service.

Pay

Starting pay is $29.50 per hour with daily overtime after 8 hours worked.

Schedule

First-shift schedule, Monday through Friday with no weekend hours. Drivers return home every night.

Responsibilities

• Safely secure loads using straps only; no tarping required
• Deliver freight accurately and on time while supporting customer service expectations
• Handle customer product returns when required
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork and customer documentation
• Communicate professionally with customers and report issues promptly
• Maintain daily safety checklists and complete required DOT inspections
• Maintain electronic logbooks and complete trip reports
• Direct customer unloading when required

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 21 years of age
• At least 12 months of recent verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
• Safe driving record
• Ability to properly secure loads
• Ability to work in all weather conditions

Equipment

BlueLinx provides newer, well-maintained flatbed and curtain-side trailers. No tarping is required for loads.
