Local CDL Driver

Location: Charlotte, NC 28208

About the role

Handle all local truckload deliveries with primarily drop-and-hook freight. Deliver and pick up trailers within the local area, making multiple routes per shift. Drive an automatic, 53’ dry-van truck for full shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform local truckload deliveries using drop-and-hook methods
• Deliver and pick up trailers within the designated area
• Operate an automatic, 53-foot dry-van truck

Requirements

• 1-year CDL-A driving experience within the past 3 years
• Must be at least 23 years of age or older
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Must pass a DOT physical from a nationally registered DOT-approved physician
• No record of disqualification to drive
• PSP report scores of 10 or below in the past 3 years (higher scores will be reviewed)
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
• Must successfully complete a DOT road test

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, warehouse, OTR (Over-the-Road), or with truck and trailer operations

Work Environment

• Ability to work in extreme conditions, including heat, cold, and air particulates
• Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a vehicle cab for entire shifts of varying lengths
• Noise level in the work environment depends on location
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required, including eye protection, ear protection (mandatory at several locations), and safety shoes
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and color vision

Pay

USD $26.00 per hour

Schedule

• 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Home daily
• Weekends off
