Local CDL Driver

Location: Memphis, TN 38106

About the role

Handle all local truckload deliveries with primarily drop-and-hook freight. Deliver and pick up trailers within the local area, making multiple routes per shift. Drive an automatic, 53’ dry-van truck for 10–12 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform local truckload deliveries using drop-and-hook methods
• Pick up and deliver trailers within the designated mileage radius
• Operate an automatic, 53-foot dry-van truck for shifts lasting 10–12 hours

Requirements

• 1-year CDL-A driving experience within the past 3 years
• Must be at least 23 years of age or older
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Must pass a DOT physical from a nationally registered DOT-approved physician
• No record of disqualification to drive
• Successful completion of a DOT road test
• PSP report scores of 10 or below in the past 3 years (higher scores will be reviewed)
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
• Ability to work in extreme conditions (elements, heat, cold, air particulates)
• Ability to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a vehicle cab for entire shifts of varying lengths
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including eye protection, ear protection at several locations, and safety shoes
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and color vision

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, warehouse, over-the-road (OTR), or CDL Class A driving preferred
• Experience with truck and trailer operations preferred

Pay

USD $23.50 per hour

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• Start times: 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM
• 10–12 hour shifts
• Home daily with weekends off
• No-touch freight
