Local CDL B Truck Driver - Home Daily
Full-time, entry-level position with daily home return. Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
About the role
As a Class B truck driver, you will deliver countertop and flooring material to various customer locations, making multiple stops per day while ensuring safe, timely, and compliant transportation of all products.
Responsibilities
- Deliver merchandise safely and efficiently.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and properly securing cargo.
- Skillfully position blocks, ties, straps/chains, and binders for cargo securement.
- Maintain constant alertness and operate vehicles safely at all times.
- Exhibit patience and courtesy toward fellow road users.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Adapt to changing conditions, prioritize customer service, and uphold quality standards.
- Work independently while maintaining focus.
- Perform additional duties as required or requested.
Requirements
- Valid Class B Driver’s License.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience with heavy-duty vehicles.
- Comfortable with local deliveries involving multiple stops per day.
- Successful completion of driving test and all DOT pre-employment requirements.
- Safety-minded with proficiency in maintaining a legal and accurate logbook.
- Capable of understanding and interpreting bill of lading/picking sheets.
- Previous experience utilizing an iPad or tablet is preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Physical Demands
- Generate 137 lbs of vertical push/pull force.
- Able to lift and transfer 55 lbs.
- Able to carry at least 30 lbs the length of the truck bed.
- Able to ascend and descend a multiple-rung ladder.
- Able to frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch.
- Able to work at an elevated height of 72” above the ground while assembling and disassembling securing equipment (straps, ties, ratchets, nuts, bolts).
- Able to work at a lowered height of 6” above the ground for the same tasks.
This is a safety-sensitive position.
Pay
Hourly, non-exempt position paying $23.75 to $26.75 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires typically earn between $59,300 and $76,700 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
