Loan Workout Officer - Commercial Real Estate

For our client, we are seeking a Loan Workout Officer - Commercial Real Estate to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will focus on managing distressed commercial real estate and multi-family loan exposures, with a strong emphasis on credit risk evaluation and recovery planning. You will partner closely with internal credit, management, and senior approval stakeholders to assess risk, develop workout solutions, and protect portfolio performance. The position requires disciplined financial analysis, effective negotiation with borrowers and third parties, and a practical approach to resolving stressed credits in a regulated lending environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $102,717 – $158,469 annually Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of distressed commercial real estate and multi-family loans Prepare credit approval memos with financial analysis and risk evaluations Identify and report emerging credit risks to management Develop and execute workout strategies for loan recovery Lead negotiations with borrowers and third parties to mitigate risk Monitor borrower performance and enforce loan covenants Prepare credit memoranda and recommendations for senior authorities Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of experience in Workout/Special Assets, ideally at an OCC-regulated institution Familiarity with various loan databases Strong understanding of financial analysis and risk assessment Proven negotiation skills with borrowers and third parties Benefits Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance Comprehensive leave program Access to various bonuses and incentives Compliance with all regulatory policies and standards Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
