About the role
Stock Yards Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYBT), parent company of Stock Yards Bank & Trust Company, operates in Louisville, Central, Eastern and Northern Kentucky, as well as the Indianapolis, Indiana and Cincinnati, Ohio metropolitan markets. This position is within the Loan Operations department.
Responsibilities
- Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of the Bank.
- Complies willingly with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Safeguards loan policy, compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Reviews and works system reports for data integrity and timeliness of resolutions.
- Reviews and validates policies and procedures against Loan Policy and Regulatory requirements.
- Submits written reports of reviews to supervisor, including findings and recommended actions.
- Conducts first line of defense monitoring and testing activities of the Retail, Private Banking, Business Banking and Commercial Lending processes.
- Participates in the development and expansion of compliance and departmental procedures and controls.
- Works with the pre-close and Business units to review data and documentation related to HMDA and Flood Insurance.
- Maintains understanding of the bank's products, services, geographic locations and associated risks.
- Conducts special projects/audits, when necessary, as directed by the Department Head.
- Aids internal and external auditors and state/federal regulators during their examination of the bank.
Qualifications
- High School/GED education, some college preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in banking operations with knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements as well as knowledge of bank policies and procedures.
- Strong PC skills (Excel and Word).
- Ability to work independently with limited direction from Manager.
- Ability to function in a multi-task environment responding to inquiries from internal compliance, audit, regulatory agencies and outside consultants in a timely manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to tactfully communicate with and gain respect of all employees.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret Banking policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements
- Primarily sedentary work performed in an office environment.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read computer screens, printed documents, and financial data.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10–15 pounds occasionally (e.g., files, office supplies).
