About the role

The Loan Portfolio Analyst provides analytics and reporting for Alpine Bank's loan portfolio to aid in strategic initiatives and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed portfolio analysis and report preparation (Loan Composition, Pipeline, Legal Lending Limit, KPI).
  • Identify meaningful ways to analyze and present information, highlighting risks in the credit portfolio.
  • Analyze and measure credit and financial performance from multiple perspectives (business lines, product, industry, geographic) to identify trends and drivers; summarize conclusions and implications.
  • Research, independently or collaboratively, to enhance relevant credit monitoring reports with analytics based on current data structure and future enhancements.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to improve data quality.
  • Develop and execute credit portfolio risk monitoring activities, including analytics and process enhancements as required by regulatory guidance.
  • Create, enhance, and maintain reports on key risk metrics, concentrations, and stratifications of the loan portfolio.
  • Perform research to prepare and provide clear, accurate information for auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor the regulatory landscape to anticipate regulatory risks.
  • Identify risk factors that could impact the bank's ability to be repaid and communicate them to appropriate areas.
  • Handle loan coding, including call report coding, loan purpose, loan type, and collateral codes.
  • Monitor and manage the covenant review process.
  • Prepare ad-hoc risk management reports as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver's License.
  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial credit analysis required; or comparable position or completion of a commercial banking training program.

  • Understanding of financial metrics and regulatory/legal restrictions impacting the portfolio.
  • Understanding of loan policy and underwriting standards.

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and multifunction printers.

  • Travel to conferences, meetings, and branch locations may be necessary.
  • While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Largely sedentary role; specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • May need to lift up to 25 pounds.

Pay

Starting range of pay is from $70,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year, depending on experience.
