Responsibilities
- Aid in managing special initiatives and projects within Loan Operations
- Assist in balancing workloads in Loan Operations during short staffing and high volumes
- Perform all critical job functions within Loan Operations, including loan booking, loan maintenance, payment processing, insurance and escrow tracking/processing, collateral release processing, credit disputes, etc.
- Review and update departmental procedures and assist management with process improvements
- Train and cross-train employees within the department
- Participate in conversion-related activities, including data collection, process discussions, data mapping, testing phases, production conversion, and post-conversion monitoring
- Engage in personal development by identifying and pursuing resources needed to improve performance
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulations, identify changes affecting the department, and take appropriate action
- Ensure compliance with SouthState Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other operating procedures
- Complete compliance training, adhere to anti-money laundering guidelines and procedures, and comply with regulatory requirements
Qualifications, Education, And Certification Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Loan Operations role is required
- Knowledge of loan documents and loan servicing functions including consumer, commercial, and mortgage loans
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory items is required
- Experience with FiServ Premier Systems (including Navigator and Director) is preferred
- Proficiencies in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
Physical Demands
This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information via various computer systems, documents, and reports.
Work Environment
This position is located in the office in a cubicle environment; however, when working remotely must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. Must also have a reliable, private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred.
